The Agape Social Service Ministries is a non-profit organization; it originated in 1987 under the auspices of Beulah Church, located in the Bedford Stuyvesant area in Brooklyn, New York.  The first official meeting was held on December 11, 1987.

Agape Social Service Ministries began with a small group of seven concerned individuals, responding to the basic survival needs: food, clothing, and shelter within the church body.  This need within the church became evident to the pastor, through his counseling with the members.  Additionally, this response was prompted by the influx of homeless men, coming to the pastor for assistance.  Satisfying this lack became a great concern; thereby giving a reason a community service within the church was created.

The mission of ASSM is to take an affirmative role in the community by providing services such as our temporary emergency food program, clothing, counseling, women’s residence and referral service.  With the growing social needs in our community our services have expanded to assist in aiding our fellow church assemblies and the Bedford Stuyvesant residents.

Our hours of operations are as follows:
